Is that necessary before they even try a treatment?<\/p>\n<p>Olivia M. &#8211; Massachusetts<\/p>\n<p>Olivia,<\/p>\n<p>Adult tooth infections can often be treated with a root canal. \u00a0children&#8217;s teeth can sometimes be treated with a similar procedure called a pulpotomoy. However, with molars this never works. \u00a0If the tooth is infected it will have to be extracted.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peckfamilydentistry.com\/pediatric-dentist-phoenix.html\">pediatric dentist<\/a> also places a space maintainer where the tooth was. \u00a0It will be many years until his adult molar comes in. \u00a0You don&#8217;t want his teeth tipping or shifting into that place. \u00a0It will cause crowding and other orthodonitic problems later on.<\/p>\n<p>You also don&#8217;t want to leave the infection. \u00a0It will spread and cause other serious problems.<\/p>\n<p>This blog is brought to you by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peckfamilydentistry.com\">Phoenix Dentists<\/a> Drs.
